Rewind 17 years---envision this--- a snaggle toothed hellion with "perfectly" self manicured bangs dressed in an '80s poofy sleeved table cloth (it was actually "a dress") dropping petals on her way down the aisle. That was me as a flower girl. Yeah, exactly. GrRrRoss! Well that was me, and every time I step into my parent's living room and see the wedding pictures...the image reappears. It's one of those pictures that despite how much you age you still can't get over the thought that that was once you. I think it has something to do with the teeth....and the fact that wedding pictures usually (hopefully) last a lifetime.
Fast forward to July 29, 2009 and there I was, back in the SAME place I took all those heinously ugly pictures. I couldn't wait to hop into Little Gardens, simply to show that place that I'd changed... at least somewhat for the better. And Little Gardens was quick to backfire.... it screamed "Hello, I've changed too!". The place has since gotten a face lift, thanks in part to Magic Moments taking it over... it's really an adorable, intimate venue... and the outdoor ceremony area has some A++ landscaping! But yeah, once we saw beyond the embarrassment of the past, we were right on track with what we were actually there for- A Bridal Show!
Joel and I set up our area... you better believe we brought the "Top Rated Entertainment and Video" award from WeddingWire. And of course, it couldn't have been complete with our killer new video of the Bridal Bar Soiree. Check out it here...(coming soon)!
And you know, our spot was perfect. I got to meet some incredible industry professionals! Beth Seitz the brains behind Seitz Photography was such a sweetheart. Check them out at www.seitzphotography.com. They take some grand pictures and offer boudoir photography for God's sake! And then of course, there's Doc Waldrop from Full Circle ... he's at the top of the lighting and production industry. I mean the guy has won more Allie awards than I can count. See for yourself, www.fullcirclelighting.com.
The reason we go to these functions is to meet brides. There's nothing like face-to-face interaction. I met Sarah White (what a doll!), we're doing her wedding on the 9th of September. It's always cool to see the face behind the voice on the phone you were just talking to like 3 hours before! All in all, I met some super cool, super interested brides. I'm actually going to call them in a few minutes... follow up, book some appointments (more face-to-face time)... that's just how Lethal Rhythms rolls.
So for the sake of time- I'm actually going to have to wrap this one up. Just want to give a shout out to the people at Magic Moments Properties... the Little Gardens in particular. Congratulations on a successful show... many brides, great vendors, beautiful venue. Hey- doesn't get much better!
