Another Weekend at Jekyll Island - Really busy week this week

Ok, I have to tell you.. we are slammed... 14 contracts outgoing... multiple events coming up...phew!!

So this past weekend... had two events back to back at the Fabulous Jekyll Island Club.  The picture on the left, is courtesy of Catherine, at mylifephoto.com.  Def check out her website and her blog.  She is a great photographer, and a great all around person to know =)

So at least once/month I find myself entertaining down at the Jekyll Island club.. Check them out here.  Jekyll Island is great if you are looking for an outdoor ceremony and want to incorporate romance (think sunset, beach, etc) and classy, with professional service and attention to detail.

Many photos are on the way, as well as excellent testimonials... coming soon!

The International Bridal Affair - Recap

First and Foremost - my proverbial "Hat" is off to Nadira of Envi Event Planning... she is the grease and wheels behind The International Bridal Affair... you can learn more about it here.

Our recap of the event is below. This is a bridal show with International flair.. women (aka brides) from all nationalities come to meet and chat with some of the best in the industry.
You might wonder why was Lethal Rhythms chosen to host such a unique event? According to Nadira Merali, President of Envi Event Planning and The International Bridal Affair, "...when i met Joel, he had so much energy, I was able to see him working a crowd....he interacted with the crowd - was extremely comfortable and people loved him...you just don't see that element in the typical bridal show... we offer something unique and fashion forward, and Joel fits right in with that level of professionalism.... we plan on having Joel MC all of our events in 2010... "

Wow, we could not have said it any better =) Thank you Nadira!

To check out the rest of the amazing photos and video of the event, courtesy of Eli Silva Photography, go here .

Here is our recap...

Bridal Talent, Trends & Treats!

I have three words for all brides-to-be: Live It Up! I must also recommend something – Check out the Calendar and plan on attending the next International Bridal Affair. I mean, where else can you meet with and talk to Atlanta’s top wedding vendors while sipping on champagne, munching on hot-passed hors d'oeuvres, and devouring decedent desserts? Unless you’re at a bridal show, you can’t experience all that anywhere else!

Yesterday, we had the honor of providing DJ and MC Services for the International Bridal Affair held at the Gwinnett Environmental and Heritage Center. In addition to all the wonderful vendor booths and sample cuisines, all brides had the chance to enjoy complimentary massages, very affordable teeth whitening services, Bridal Boot Camp (an hour-long “seminar” that provided helpful event planning information), a live performance by R&B artist E. Walter Smith, and a couture fashion show where the models rocked their struts to an array of music provided by the very talented Joel Rabe. Each bride-to-be also had a chance to win some awesome prizes including merchant gift certificates, overnight hotel accommodations at various hotels in the metro-Atlanta area, and a grand prize of a three-night stay in Barbados! Seriously, who would not want to be a bride right now?

We met a lot of brides, grooms, and families! And although the Center was packed that afternoon, we were sure to devote one-on-one time with each and every couple that stopped by our booth to provide them with information on our services! This is just a taste of how we operate at Lethal Rhythms! We want to know you, your Style, your Vision and your Taste so that we can make your day, truly unforgettable and well, truly yours!

Having said this, enjoy researching, mingling, and being doted on by the wonderful vendors the Atlanta area has to offer! You can start your search and socializing by calling us at 678.480.9845, or visiting us at www.lethalrhythms.com . Contact us today for a consultation and discover for yourself why we are chosen for DJ entertainment, videography and event planning! We hope to talk to you soon!

We Only Limit Ourselves by Those We Chose to Surround Ourselves With

Had a very interesting day... met with some great brides... and have a lot going on... trying to choose between several magazines.. def going with some of my faves.. of course Heather Vreeland... of Atlanta Occasions... Def a GREAT magazine for brides to check out... and there are a few others I am partnering with... keeping that on the low for now.

So why the blog title? Seems to be the message of the day for me... struggling with some important business decisions... more to come.

Here We Go...Let's Rock and Roll

Ok, Monday... Great start to the week... we just completed a 10 event weekend and have numerous requests, contacts, etc already coming in... nice. Wake up everyday as if it were on purpose. Getting your mind in the right "set" is the key to success. Spoke with several potential bridal clients about layouts and ideas. Chateau Elan, The Biltmore and Primrose Cottage are the points of discussion.

We have TWO destination weddings this weekend. Still working on details for our Cabo San Lucas wedding. Something new for Jezebel... I was recently chosen (and am honored) as the "go-to" DJ for Jezebel Events. Check out www.jezebelmagazine.com . Multiple events coming up outside the wedding circle - Halloween, Jezebel Annual, The Downtown Countdown (New Years Downtown) - and more...phew what a calendar... If you are looking for THE Party of the Year for New Years.. check us out at www.downtowncountdown.net - come celebrate with us and 5000 partiers...

Ok, adding photos from this past Saturday at the Glendalough Manor... see earlier post for a little bit about that location.

Yeah, we shot these ourselves... takes so long (most cases - never) to get pics from the photographers - we are happy to refer you to photographers that are excellent shooters, shoot with a portraiture style (not so much the poses) and get the images to you by the time you get back from your honeymoon...

We will bring you the best - music, talent and professionalism.

Time to ReConnect

Hey Everyone!

Ok, back on a mission...
Let's get right into it ... shall we?

Tonight - we have a wedding at the Glendalough Manor.. no worries if you have not heard of it... it is down in Tyrone GA... have not heard of that either...? well ok.. that is fine. Quick story for demo purposes.. Yes, we are DJs (extra-ordinary DJs, according to those who have heard us) - but I am also an Event Planner - or Wedding Director, as those in the Industry like to call me...

Erin (bride for tonight) called me just a bit ago to tell me her String Quartet could not play outside, because the weather was going to be too cold (anything below 63 degrees apparently). I came up with a solution! (she really wants her ceremony outside)... so here is our plan - WIRELESS speakers. Yep, I am going to set up the String Quartet inside the facility (windows) and transmit a signal to an outside area... Erin is happy... as she says "I don't want to pay $900 for the facility to just play a CD..."

Did you know our DJs can play the ceremony music, or we can help you find a quartet? Yep - call us today at 678.480.9845 or email me joel.rabe@lethalrhythms.com for more info

We will post photos.. and i will be doing the blog personally nightly =)

3,2,1... blast off!

Heather Vreeland may not have exactly chanted the countdown but she did nothing less than launch Atlanta Occasion's up a promising path.

Atlanta's most elite event suppliers came dressed to impress at a launch party that bled excellence. In my best French mademoiselle accent I say "it was marvelous darling."

Professionals were not sparse, at all. And when you come ready for business- that's exactly what you want to see. Being new to Atlanta's events arena, I found comfort in realizing there were more than just a few faces. :) More than a few faces happy to find complimentary beer, wine, and champagne (blue champagne at that!). Which while I'm at it let me just harp on this- I've been hearing Atlanta's event industry knows how to party... tastefully. "A-T-L knows how to party!"

Proper planning, great company, and the perfect setting... suited for takeoff, really. The Foundry at Puritan Mill made for the perfect setting-- Open room, Open mind, Open mic. Oh yes, Heather's open mic... Joel caught the hostess with the mostest off guard. She eased right into a super speech! Happiness instilled when Joel kicked it into high gear on the dance floor not so long after. Sooner rather than later, he managed to allure the many who knew the Cupid Shuffle out on the dance floor. Dancing queen (self proclaimed, yes) over here was happy to hear and move it!

In the few weeks that I've worked at Lethal Rhythms, I've learned many things. Being there last night and actually reading the mag one thing I know for sure-- Atlanta Occasions has blasted off!

Little Gardens Bridal Show 7/29/09

Rewind 17 years---envision this--- a snaggle toothed hellion with "perfectly" self manicured bangs dressed in an '80s poofy sleeved table cloth (it was actually "a dress") dropping petals on her way down the aisle. That was me as a flower girl. Yeah, exactly. GrRrRoss! Well that was me, and every time I step into my parent's living room and see the wedding pictures...the image reappears. It's one of those pictures that despite how much you age you still can't get over the thought that that was once you. I think it has something to do with the teeth....and the fact that wedding pictures usually (hopefully) last a lifetime.

Fast forward to July 29, 2009 and there I was, back in the SAME place I took all those heinously ugly pictures. I couldn't wait to hop into Little Gardens, simply to show that place that I'd changed... at least somewhat for the better. And Little Gardens was quick to backfire.... it screamed "Hello, I've changed too!". The place has since gotten a face lift, thanks in part to Magic Moments taking it over... it's really an adorable, intimate venue... and the outdoor ceremony area has some A++ landscaping! But yeah, once we saw beyond the embarrassment of the past, we were right on track with what we were actually there for- A Bridal Show!

Joel and I set up our area... you better believe we brought the "Top Rated Entertainment and Video" award from WeddingWire. And of course, it couldn't have been complete with our killer new video of the Bridal Bar Soiree. Check out it here...(coming soon)!

And you know, our spot was perfect. I got to meet some incredible industry professionals! Beth Seitz the brains behind Seitz Photography was such a sweetheart. Check them out at www.seitzphotography.com. They take some grand pictures and offer boudoir photography for God's sake! And then of course, there's Doc Waldrop from Full Circle ... he's at the top of the lighting and production industry. I mean the guy has won more Allie awards than I can count. See for yourself, www.fullcirclelighting.com.

The reason we go to these functions is to meet brides. There's nothing like face-to-face interaction. I met Sarah White (what a doll!), we're doing her wedding on the 9th of September. It's always cool to see the face behind the voice on the phone you were just talking to like 3 hours before! All in all, I met some super cool, super interested brides. I'm actually going to call them in a few minutes... follow up, book some appointments (more face-to-face time)... that's just how Lethal Rhythms rolls.

So for the sake of time- I'm actually going to have to wrap this one up. Just want to give a shout out to the people at Magic Moments Properties... the Little Gardens in particular. Congratulations on a successful show... many brides, great vendors, beautiful venue. Hey- doesn't get much better!
